Overbored is a four piece rock band from Miami, FL. Overbored was officially formed in Spring 2002. The formation of Overbored would have never happened if it were not for Brian Peterson (a self taught guitar player/songwriter born and raised in Miami) and Mario Sarmiento (a well accomplished guitar player from Venezuela) both getting hired at a Barnes and Noble Cafe in July 2000. Mario and Brian just happened to start working together there on the same exact day. Over time they became good friends. They soon realized they had like minded goals, aspirations, and similar musical tastes and jammed on guitar with each other whenever possible, often in front of the store itself. There were many jam sessions with various friends and acquaintances but neither could find other musicians that they clicked with musically as well as they did with each other. In September 2001, a childhood friend of Mario's from Venezuela, Jose Landa, (an extraordinarily talented and creative bass p
 layer), came to the United States to live, much like Mario had done only around two years earlier. Brian who had already composed many of his own original songs was playing some of his compositions for his friends on a typical weekend in late 2001 when Jose came to Brian and Mario and asked if they wanted to form a band. Mario and Brian jumped at the idea. The original idea was to throw a giant Green Day Tribute house party and Mario, Jose and Brian would play it. The party never happened and instead the guys began looking for a drummer for their new band. During the few months of advertising around town on the look for a drummer Brian and Mario started working together on creating the songs that would become the majority of the Overbored catalog. Many long talks were had between the guys on what they wanted out of the band. Then one day by chance Brian met Arik Dayan (an extremely versatile and gifted musician) who informed Brian he was a drummer and that he wanted to jam.
 Only a day after first meeting Arik the guys had their first jam session together. The search for a drummer was over. Overbored was finally complete and out to replenish a waning rock scene that in recent years has lacked the heart and soul that the mainstream rock music world used to take for granted and sorely needs again.
